Materials for ARRCU Workshop: Initial Activities for the Collaborative Platform for CanESM (CP4C)
This virtual workshop took place April 21-22. Its purpose was to introduce and report on initial steps to develop _The Collaborative Platform for CanESM_ (CP4C), a research platform for Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Earth System Model ( CanESM), that is intended for collaborative use by the academic community. CP4C is being developed under the auspices of ARRCU. It is intended to enable collaborative partnerships with ECCC for the Canadian research community to use CanESM for development, analysis, and application. Central to this goal is developing a production and analysis capacity for CanESM ported to high performance computing platforms extramural to Government of Canada computational facilities. This workshop will report on the results of CP4C activities supported by seed funding from ECCC for the period November 2021-March 2022. It follows from an earlier ARRCU workshop held in March 2021 whose materials are also posted here at the ARRCU website.
The workshop took place over two half-day sessions. The first day focused on an overview of the CP4C project and updates on CanESM. The second day was reserved for discussion of CanESM and activities and policies for the CP4C community.
