CMOS 2012 Congress / AMS 21st NWP and 25th WAF Conferences

The Changing Environment and its Impact on Climate, Ocean and Weather Services

Sponsorship

We are seeking sponsors for the next congress of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS). This congress will be held in downtown Montreal at the Hyatt Regency Hotel from May 29 to June 1 2012. We think that your organization might be interested in sponsoring that special scientific event. The CMOS has a long and distinguished history of advancing meteorology and oceanography in Canada. Our scientific congresses now attract over 500 attendees from around the world on an annual basis. The theme for this congress is "The Changing Environment and its Impact on Climate, Ocean and Weather Services", and it will bring together scientists from Canada, United States and around the world.

We are seeking sponsors for this 46th congress. Benefits to sponsorship include:

  • enhanced company or organizational profile on national and international level
  • networking and relationship development
  • direct access to a large group of potential clients in Canada and United States
  • promotion/visibility via the Congress web site, program book and media activities

Typical sessions span a range of topics from weather prediction to oceanography to climate change. Exceptionally, the congress will be held jointly with two conferences of the American Meteorological Society: Weather Analysis and Forecasting and Numerical Weather Prediction. Therefore, your organization can gain an additional international exposure by sponsoring the Montreal 2012 event.

  • As a non-profit society, the annual congress represents a large financial commitment, and we are always grateful to obtain sponsorship for parts of the meeting. Examples of the kind of sponsorships available include:
  • Morning or Afternoon Coffee Break ($2000 each for full sponsorship; $500 for partial sponsorship)
  • Public Lecture ($5000)
  • Plenary Sessions or Poster Sessions ($2000 each)
  • Individual Science Sessions ($500 each)
  • Student Support ($1000)

As a sponsor, your organization will be recognized on signage and in the Program Book, with special recognition for: Platinum sponsors at the $15,000 and above level; Gold sponsors at the $10,000 level; and Silver sponsors at the $5000 level.

This includes:

Platinum level: prominent recognition at the opening session and banquet as a major supporter; prominent exposure on all promotional material, program book, web site and signage; four full Congress registrations, including banquet.

Gold level: recognition at the opening session and banquet; prominent exposure in the Conference Program book and web site; two full Congress registrations, including banquet;

Silver level: recognition at the opening session and banquet; significant exposure in the program book and web site; one full Congress registration, including banquet.

Of course CMOS and the Congress organizers will be grateful for support at any level. If you would be interested in being a sponsor of this important and high-profile scientific event, please contact Normand Gagnon.
