Hotels and Accomodations
We offer two main choices for accommodation for the Congress attendees :
- The Hyatt Regency Montreal Hotel
- The UQAM University Residences
Hyatt Regency Montreal
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt-Regency Montreal and Congress Centre located in downtown Montreal near the Complexe Desjardins shopping area.
A special conference rate of $179.00 plus tax is available for all Congress attendees (based on single or double occupancy).
As for students, rooms are offered at $139 plus tax (limited number of rooms, single or double occupancy). Please contact Renée Langlois of the Hyatt Regency if you wish to take advantage of this special student rate.
NOTE: You must make your reservation prior to April 27, 2012 to take advantage of all preferential conference rates.

University residences (UQAM)
In order to assist students attending the Congress, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Lodges of the Résidences Universitaires de l'UQAM. Both West and East Lodges are located a few minutes’ walk from the Hyatt Regency Congress Centre. Space is limited so please reserve prior to the beginning of April 2012. Current applicable rates per person are:
Studio : 69$ / night
Multi-2 : 67$ / night
Multi-3 and Multi-4 : 59$ / night
Please note that a 15% rebate will be applied if "CMOS-2012" is mentioned while making a reservation.
Travel
Air Travel - Air Canada
Air Canada has been designated as the official Canadian airline for the congress, and flies direct to Montreal from many locations in Canada and the U.S. Our promotion code is XNQJD2Q1, which entitles delegates to a discount (10%) on Air Canada (including JAZZ) fares to Montreal on Executive Class Flexible, Latitude or Tango Plus. To book a flight with this promotion code, phone 1-800-361-7585 or visit the Air Canada web site and enter the promotion code in the search panel. The travel period begins Tuesday, May 22, 2012 and ends Friday, June 08, 2012.
Air Travel - WestJet
WestJet offers delegates a 10% discount off their best available fare at the time of booking (excluding web fares and seat sales pricing), and flies direct to Montreal from various Canadian cities. To book your flights please call 1-877-952-4696 and quote our convention code CC7248. The discounted rates are available from May 26, 2012 to June 4, 2012.
In order to reduce their climate footprint, participants are invited to directly compensate their travel-induced GHG emissions through their transport company, an available program in their enterprise, or through the sites www.planetair.ca or www.less.ca.
Ground Travel - Trudeau airport to Hyatt Regency
For transportation to and from the airport: the $8 bus service route 747 provides a 24-hour pass for the STM (Montreal Transit Authority) and has a bus stop directly at the hotel entrance (corner of Jeanne-Mance and René-Lévesque). Taxi fare is about $40 from Trudeau airport to the Hyatt Regency.
The congress centre and hotel are located in Montreal’s downtown and are close to two metro stations (Place-d’Armes and Place-des-Arts). Bike sharing (BIXI) stations can also be found close to the congress centre, and rental rate is $5 a day. Bike racks are also available in an interior parkade located at the Complexe Desjardins.
Car rental
Even though the conference centre and hotels are quite close to each other in downtown Montreal, a car may prove to be useful if you wish to visit areas outside of the Greater Montreal. Hertz is the official car rental company for the CMOS 2012 Congress in Montreal. Special rates have been set up for all participants as noted below. Reservations can be booked online at hertz.com with the code CV#02360010 to take advantage of special rates, which include unlimited mileage. Advance reservations may be placed at 1-800-654-2240 and are recommended, as cars are subject to availability. Please note that, when reservations are booked, the enclosed rates will be automatically compared to Hertz published rates to ensure the CMOS delegates receive the best comparable rates.
