To stimulate activity on matters pertaining to the practice of private sector meteorology and oceanography in Canada and to keep the CMOS Council, members, and other interested parties advised of such actions; to keep abreast of and promote current developments and practices in meteorology and oceanography in the private sector; to encourage the increased use of metocean information by industry and business and to evaluate legislation and government practices affecting private sector meteorology and oceanography and develop pertinent policy positions.
