Dorothy J. NealeExecutive Secretary EmeritusBorn in Stirling, Scotland and after training and work experience as a legal secretary emigrated to Canada in 1954. She worked as an Executive Secretary to the President of the Foundation Company of Canada and later to the Deputy Commissioner-General of EXPO ‘67 and Vice-President of Administration, McGill University. She joined the Public Service of Canada in Ottawa in 1971 and served with the Deputy Minister of the newly established Department of the Environment. Later, she joined the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and worked under the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Ocean and Aquatic Sciences sector. Her career in the Atmospheric Environment Service followed where she served under no less than four Assistant Deputy Ministers. Dorothy retired from the government in 1992 and became involved in CMOS in 1994 where she serves as the Executive Secretary Emeritus. 2001

NealeSecrétaire exécutif émériteDorothy est née à Stirling, en Écosse, et après avoir reçu une formation de secrétaire juridique et avoir travaillé dans ce domaine, elle a immigré au Canada en 1954. Dorothy a travaillé comme secrétaire de direction pour le président de la compagnie Foundation du Canada et, plus tard, pour le commissaire général adjoint d’EXPO 67 et vice-président de l’Administration de l’université McGill. Elle a joint les rangs de la Fonction publique du Canada à Ottawa, en 1971, et a travaillé avec le sous-ministre du nouveau ministère de l’Environnement. Plus tard, elle est passée au ministère des Pêches et Océans et a travaillé pour le sous-ministre adjoint du secteur des Sciences océaniques et aquatiques. C’est ensuite qu’a débuté sa carrière au sein du Service de l’environnement atmosphérique, où elle a secondé pas moins de quatre sous-ministres adjoints. Dorothy a quitté le gouvernement en 1992 et s’est impliquée dans la SCMO en 1994. Elle y occupe le poste de la Secrétaire exécutif émérite de la Société. 2001 |
